Hi! Welcome to my website.
I was born and brought up in Mumbai, India, which was a more peaceful place in the 80s and 90s; less traffic, less noise – or that may be nostalgia speaking! We lived with my grandparents and uncle and aunts in a quiet suburban lane till I was 11 years old, after which my parents, brother and I moved to an upstairs apartment in the same building. Mumbai is all about apartments and buildings; single-family homes like in the US are rare! I was in and out of my grandparents’ home all the time growing up.

I moved to San Diego in 2002 to study marketing at San Diego State University. I met my husband here (to the relief of my mother!) and we have been fortunate to call two countries and two cities home.

I grew up listening to stories about my grandparents’ lives in Sindh and the home they left behind when India and Pakistan were partitioned. When I moved to America, I started writing simply to not forget their stories. That was the beginning, and now here we are! :-)
